Singapore to host International Conference on Quantum Computing, Measurement and Communication

QCMC 2016 will be held 4-8 July 2016 on the modern campus of University Town, National University of Singapore. The conference website features a design inspired by Singapore's iconic public housing.

The Centre for Quantum Technologies is pleased to announce the dates for the 13th International Conference on Quantum Computing, Measurement and Communication: the conference will be held 4-8 July 2016 on the University Town campus of the National University of Singapore. The conference website is now live at qcmc.quantumlah.org.

The biennial QCMC conference series, started in 1990, caters for scientists and engineers working in quantum information and technology.

CQT Principal Investigator Valerio Scarani led the bid to bring QCMC 2016 to Singapore, presenting the proposal successfully at QCMC 2014 in Hefei, China, in November. He will be supported by a steering committee, programme committee and local organising committee in planning the event, which is expected to draw over 200 delegates. Submission of talk proposals and online registration will open in early 2016.

Before QCMC arrives in Singapore, another major conference for researchers in quantum physics and related technologies will happen here. The International Conference on Laser Spectroscopy (ICOLS) is taking place June 28 - July 3 this year. Registration for ICOLS 2015 is open here.

CQT has previously organised other leading conferences in the field, notably the second edition of QCRYPT in 2012 and the more theoretically-oriented QIP in 2011 and TQC in 2014.
